Alpha's short-waist cold weather parka was designed for air and deck crewman subject to extreme cold weather. Special features required by military pilots and crew members serving in extreme cold weather conditions led to unique design specs in the N-2B. For example, the front pockets offer a 'pass-thru' slash design so that crew members could reach into their pant pockets without taking their hands out of the jacket pockets. The hood was designed to unzip and lie completely flat against the shoulders for comfort inside the cockpit.
