Canada Goose Expedition Parka

Canada Goose Expedition Parka Review

Canada Goose Expedition Parka Feature

  • Men's parka; designed for extreme weather conditions; originally developed for scientists at Antarctica
  • Durable and well-insulated with duck down; nylon lining; Arctic-Tech shell with DWR finish
  • Relaxed fit; mid-thigh length; two-way, adjustable, tunnel-shaped hood with adjustable bracing wire
  • Storm flap over front zipper; recessed rib-knit cuffs; draw-cord waist; numerous external pockets
  • Limited lifetime warranty
Canada Goose takes pride in creating authentic gear to help real people living in extreme conditions battle the elements. Originally developed for scientists working in research facilities at McMurdo station in Antarctica, the Canada Goose Expedition parka allows its wearers to withstand the most frigid temperatures. Not only is it durable and well-insulated, with 625 fill power white duck down, but its iconic design also features a highly functional collection of external pockets, perfect for easy gear storage and hand-warming. When the wind really howls, the tunnel-shaped hood can be pulled tightly around the face, using an adjustable bracing wire, creating a sheltering pocket of air to keep the face warm.

The parka offers a relaxed fit that is designed for maximum comfort and ease of movement. Its mid-thigh length provides exceptional coverage and protection from the elements. The coyote fur ruff surrounding a two-way, adjustable tunnel hood with an adjustable bracing wire is made to reduce wind penetration by allowing you to adjust the size as conditions dictate. A draw-cord waist, a storm flap over the front zipper, and recessed, flexible, heavy-duty rib-knit cuffs help keep the snow and cold wind at bay. Other features include two upper chest pockets and two lower snow pockets, all secured with Velcro flaps, along with four fleece-lined upper and lower pockets with zippered closures.

Made of 85 percent polyester, 15 percent cotton, the Arctic-Tech shell weighs 190 grams per square meter (GSM) and sports a durable water repellent finish. The plain-weave nylon lining weighs 55 GSM and is also treated with a water repellent finish. The insulation is 625 fill power white duck down.

Product Care
When your down-filled parka requires cleaning, it is important that you take it to a dry cleaner and that you do not machine wash it. Machine washing your parka will void the warranty. If your parka has a removable fur option, remove the fur ruff before dry cleaning. If you have a small stain on your parka, another option is to spot-wash the parka with a bleach-free detergent and water.

Manufacturer's Warranty
All Canada Goose products are fully warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. If a product ever fails due to a manufacturing defect, the company will repair the product without charge or replace it at its option. This warranty does not include repairs due to accidents, improper care, negligence, or normal wear and tear. In such cases, Canada Goose will repair the item for a reasonable charge. This warranty is valid exclusively in the country of purchase through the original retailer.

About Canada Goose
Canada Goose has been manufacturing innovative, high-quality outerwear in Canada for over 50 years. From South Pole research facilities and the Canadian High Arctic to the streets of New York City, Stockholm, Milan, Toronto, and Tokyo, people wear Canada Goose products because of the company's reputation for quality, functionality, and style. Its collection of down-insulated, technical, and travel-inspired outerwear offers protection in conditions that range from the mind-numbing cold of Antarctica to the gale force winds on the North Sea.

All Canada Goose products are field-tested by those who live, work, and play in the environments they emerged from. From the Constable Parka developed with insights from law enforcement agencies to the Expedition Parka worn by almost every scientist at the South Pole and the Chilliwack Parka designed for pilots of the north, it is safe to say that Canada Goose outerwear is truly a product of its environment.

Being the leader in extreme weather outwear for over 50 years, Canada Goose was the logical choice to design a parka for scientists working in McMurdo, Antarctica. With that came the birth of the Expedition Parka. Conquer extreme weather and protect yourself from the elements with this highly functional jacket. Stay comfortable in its relaxed fit and mid-length coverage, while taking advantage of a coyote fur ruff hood, the multitude of pockets, and more.
